Cyril continues his description of the one Christ as both visible and invisible, then states the purpose: that the whole fallen human being might be refashioned in the same one who is both God and man.

He is seen and thought, containable and uncontainable, so that the whole human being who fell under sin might be refashioned in the whole human being who is the same one and God. For since the only Son, the Word of God, being life by nature, was enfleshed, the nature of man blossomed up into life. For he himself has become first in all things (Colossians 1:18).
