Ignatius of Antioch, Epistle to the Philadelphians 6
If anyone explains Judaism to you, do not listen to him. Better to hear Christianity from a circumcised man than Judaism from an uncircumcised one. But if neither speaks of Jesus Christ, to me they are grave markers and tombs of the dead, carved with nothing but human names.
So run from the tricks and ambushes of the ruler of this age, or his schemes may press you hard and your love grow weak. Come together, all of you, with an undivided heart.
I thank my God that my conscience is clear toward you. No one can boast, privately or publicly, that I weighed on anyone, in a small matter or a great one. And for all among whom I have spoken, I pray that they may not acquire it as a testimony against them.
