Finally, in the third year afterward the Imperial Estates gathered at Frankfurt am Main not only approved the Leipzig Colloquy, but — judging they would not be cheated of the Leipzig theologians’ hope — sanctioned by a special decree that Electors Saxony and Brandenburg be asked in the Estates’ public name to keep the Protestant peace business begun at Leipzig going through more moderate theologians’ work, and to bring it to a happy end.
