Commodian — Instructiones 67
Exercise Christ’s ministry, chaste deacons; therefore, ministers, do the Master’s precepts. Do not flee the person of a fair judge; keep your place whole, taught in all things. Looking upward, always devoted to the highest God, render to God all the holy things unhurt, ministers. In diverse matters give example, ready; yourselves bow your head to the pastors: so it will be that you can be proven in Christ.
