Psalm 12:1 — Unto the end, a psalm of David; the end as fruit of the labors

“Unto the end, a psalm to David.” Hypothesis of Eusebius.

Because of the end, the one with God, he contended manfully in all the things before the end; and the end is the fruit of the labors, procuring eternal life and the kingdom of the heavens for those who genuinely contend.

Since then David also was one of these, he sent up the psalm and the ode to God unto the end. But at the beginning, as if still contending, he put forth the first utterances.
