Just as when a dead body lies there the flesh-eating birds run together upon it, so, when the Son of Man arrives, then all the eagles — that is, those who fly into the heights and highest places and have been lifted above earthly and worldly things — will run together to him (Matthew 24:28).

Ὥσπερ σώματος κειμένου νεκροῦ τὰ σαρκοβόρα τῶν πτηνῶν ἐπ' αὐτὸ συντρέχει, οὕτως, ὅταν ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραγένηται, τότε δὴ πάντες οἱ ἀετοὶ τοῦτ' ἔστιν οἱ εἰς τὰ ὑψηλὰ πωτώμενοι καὶ ἀνω τάτω καὶ τῶν ἐπιγείων καὶ κοσμικῶν ἀνενηνεγμένοι ἐπ' αὐτὸν συνδρα μοῦνται.
