He says: Since the father’s soul is mine and the son’s soul is mine, it is utterly unjust and foolish for my possession, my image, to be burdened with another’s deeds. This testimony, like many others, teaches that the soul owes nothing to reproductive seed, since God claims it for his own authority (Genesis 1:26–27) (Ezekiel 18:4).
