But amid these points, truth has shown that even if medicine, poured out universally, benefited bodily movements and mortal people, including those who had earned it by no effort or intention, guilt would not therefore harm newborn children who could have contributed no assent to it. Consequently, even if grace and sin were rated equally, it was clear that even then such a weighing would not extend so far as to prove anyone born guilty.

Ostendit autem inter haec veritas, quia, etsi prodesset effusa generaliter medicina motibus atque mortalibus, illis quoque, qui eam nullo studio nec ulla intentione meruissent, non tamen continuo noceret culpa nascentibus, qui nihil ad eam assensionis admovere potuissent. Ac per hoc, etsi aequalis esset gratiae peccatique taxatio, clarebat tamen ne tum quidem eiusmodi appensionem eo usque constare, ut quisquam nasci probaretur reus.
